Oscar Farinetti

businessman and lover of wine, born in Alba in 1954, after launching the retail chain Unieuro and working in the electrical appliances and electronics sector, founded Eataly in 2004 and has bought stakes in many quality food and drinks companies. In 2008 he wrote Coccodè, his marketing venture (Giunti, 2009), and his biography, Il mercante di utopie by Anna Sartorio, was published by Sperling & Kupfer. In 2011 he wrote 7 mosse per l’Italia (Giunti), in 2012 the chapter on “Armonia” in Lezioni di cittadinanza (Edizioni Gruppo Abele), and in 2013 Storie di coraggio. 12 incontri con i grandi italiani del vino (English-language edition Vino, I Love You) with Shigeru Hayashi (Mondadori Electa).
