Protagonists
Marco Martella
is an expert on the history of gardens and responsible for the safeguard and promotion of the historic green areas of the Département des Hauts-de-Seine, in France. In 2009 he created Jardins (Editions du Sandre), a yearly publication whose mission is to explore the poetic and philosophical nature of the garden. He has directed the international conference L’héritage d’André Le Nôtre (2013, parc de Sceaux). Using literary aliases, he has published Le jardin perdu (Actes Sud, 2011, released in Italy with the title E il giardino creò l’uomo, Ponte alle Grazie, 2012) and Jardins en temps de guerre (Actes Sud, 2014, published in Italy in 2015, again by Ponte alle Grazie, with the Giardini in tempo di guerra). He wrote the screenplay for the film Empreintes by Hervé Bernard (2015).
