Germano Celant

Germano Celant Germano Celant (Genoa 1940), is Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the Guggenheim Museum, New York, and contributing editor on the journals Artforum and Interview. Internationally known for his theories on Arte Povera, he has organised countless exhibitions and art shows and has written over 50 publications. In 1996 he was co-artistic director of the first editions of the Art and Fashion Florence Biennale; in 1997 he was curator of the 47th Venice Art Biennale where, in 2001, he organised the exhibition in the Padiglione Brasiliano. He was Artistic Supervisor at the 2004 Genoa Capitale Europea della Cultura, curator of the exhibition Arti&Architettura, 1900-2000 (2004). He writes the column "Arte" in L'Espresso and is responsible for the visual arts column in Interni.
