Lorenzo Mattotti

Lorenzo Mattotti Lorenzo Mattotti is internationally known for the unique and visionary style he has developed in thirty years of activity. His great love is for comics, which he sees as a creative language open to all kinds of anxiety and free from any kind of tradition, but his work ranges from cartoons to posters and illustrations (New Yorker, Le Monde etc.) and books for children. He says: “I’m interested in the visionary force of the comic strip, the radical nature of the pictures, which can be wholly self sufficient”. His books include Caboto (Hazard, 1997); Stigmate (1999); with Jerry Kramsky, Jekyll & Hyde (Einaudi, 2002); Angkor (Nuages, 2003); Chimera (Coconino Press, 2006) and Lettere da un tempo lontano (Einaudi, 2006).
