Marjane Satrapi

Marjane Satrapi Marjane Satrapi, was born and grew up in Teheran. She studied design and illustration in Vienna and Strasburg and lives in Paris; she is hailed by critics and writers, such as Art Spiegelman and Zadie Smith, as one of the finest exponents of the graphic novel. She is a contributor to  various publications including Internazionale and Flair. She has written Persepolis 1 e 2 (Sperling & Kupfer 2002), which brought her international acclaim; Taglia e Cuci and Il velo di Maia (Lizard, 2003); published to coincide with Festival della Mente is Pollo alle prugne (Sperling & Kupfer), which at the Festival internazionale di Angoulême – comic awards – won book of the year prize.
