Toni Servillo

Toni Servillo (1959) is a theatre actor and director of plays and operas; he’s staged Mozart, Cimarosa, Mussorgskij, Strauss and Beethoven, for the Fenice in Venice, the San Carlo in Naples and the São Carlos in Lisbona, his most recent production being L’italiana in Algeri at the Aix-en-Provence Festival. He has starred in many movies since 1991, under the direction of Mario Martone, Antonio Capuano, Paolo Sorrentino (L’uomo in più, Le conseguenze dell’amore, Il Divo), Andrea Molaioli (La ragazza del lago), Matteo Garrone (Gomorra), and has won many prizes in Italy and abroad. His latest theatre production, The Vacation Trilogy by Carlo Goldoni, had a long successful run in Italy and abroad. He has just published his first book Interpretazione e creatività with Gianfranco Capitta (Laterza I Libri del Festival della Mente).
