Can a thread be used to say thank you? How much can be communicated with a single knot? Threads, ropes, ribbons, and lines weave tales of connections, speaking to both hands and hearts. Knots of gratitude and tactile messages convey appreciation through simple yet beautiful gestures. From children to the world.

In the dark, everything can be different. Thanks to darkness, we can use our imagination to explore what cannot be seen. In the magical night we can meet monsters, dangers, strange creatures, as well as the moon, stars and fireflies. Together we will plunge into the darkness and reach magical places that are sometimes impossible to explore in the light.

What will the third and fourth acts of our human lives be like? The extraordinary Alessandra Faiella will enchant the festival audience exploring this question with provocative candor and delightful irony. In a moving and unflinching defense of old age, she argues that the new era of aging is not a condemnation but a challenge, a fulfillment, an uncharted territory to explore and a place to discover an unexpected inner freedom. Accompanied by the visual artistry of Cinzia Leone and the cello of Chiara Piazza, Age Pride – based on Lidia Ravera's novel, directed by Emanuela Giordano, and produced by Teatro Franco Parenti – offers a fresh perspective, delving into themes like family, time and future.

The eternal grace of giving thanks

Gratitude is as ancient as humanity itself, if not more. We, along with animals and plants, feel gratitude. We trust, we give thanks. Always and everywhere – inside churches, temples, and caves, but also outdoors, where the only roof is the sky. Along roads, amidst forests, beside crosses and at crossroads, on top of the mountains and overlooking the sea, wherever humans tread, figures of stone or colour remain to say thank you. In the lands between Liguria, Tuscany, and Emilia, this mystical gratitude is called Maestà: ancient figures of Madonnas and Saints, heavy stones to cling to in life’s tempests. Here, as everywhere, in the deep act of giving thanks to the sky, the earth, the water, and to each other, we find our true humanity. In these moments we are human, animal, and divine. We are truly alive.

	The gratitude of enemies

The idea that enemies could be mutually grateful seems unimaginable and only achievable during a reconciliation. Yet, it is after enemies quarrel, having reached the heights of hatred, that their shared humanity can restore a sense of grace. This is the moment when individuals realize they are part of a whole, when they stop following the path that drives them to vainglory, and allow the grace that binds all mortal beings to overflow. This is what happens to Achilles after he has hated, killed, and humiliated Hector, when he realizes that his enemy is just a human being. A human like Patroclus and the rest of us, who forget grace until it overflows, pushing us to weep with those we once believed we hated just as Achilles does with Priam in the final scene of the Iliad.

How does an apparently simple and popular dish become a gastronomic icon? "Da Vittorio", the renowned restaurant on the hills of Bergamo, Italy, is the most celebrated and beloved among three Michelin star restaurants. Here, the Cerea brothers, sons of the founder Vittorio, serve their exquisite and refined dishes, that embody the essence of the great and famous Italian cuisine. The "Paccheri alla Vittorio," introduced fifty years ago and acclaimed for its high-quality ingredients and tableside finishing, is among the most requested and copied pasta dishes on social media. Camilla Baresani, in conversation with Chicco Cerea, will explore how a culinary creation turns into a legendary recipe, tracing the success of a family that has shaped the history of Italian

	The miracles of desire

Jesus gives sight back to the blind, makes the deaf hear and the paralysed walk, heals lepers, calms the insane, commands the elements of nature, transforms stagnant water into sublime wine, multiplies loaves and fishes, and, most importantly, raises the dead and resurrects himself. How can we understand his power (dynamis) without reducing it to supernatural phenomena? The true miracle he brings to this world is the strength of desire: it's not about the length of one's life, but how it can expand its horizons, how it is able to be generative, fruitful and grateful, and how it can become eternal – a life untainted by death.
