	<strong>Umberto Orsini</strong> debucts in theatre by the age of 22 with the Compagnia dei Giovani and afterwards he worked along with major Italian directors. For the cinema, his interpretations in <em>La caduta degli dei</em> and <em>Ludwig</em>, both directed by Luchino Visconti, are well known. For television he interpreted with success <em>Ivan</em> of the <em>Karamazov&rsquo;s Brothers</em>, directed by Sandro Bolchi. His most recent theatrical work is <em>Il costruttore Solness</em> by Ibsen, directed by Alessandro Serra. In 2019 he published his autobiography <em>Sold out</em> (Laterza).</p>

An appreciated interpreter of the vices and virtues of the man in the street, Orlando has worked under some of Italy&rsquo;s best authors and directors: G. Salvatores in Kamikazen-Ultima notte a Milano and Nirvana; N. Moretti in Palombella rossa, Aprile (that won him the 1998 David di Donatello award for best actor in a supporting role), La stanza del figlio, Il Caimano; D. Lucchetti in Il portaborse, La scuola; C. Mazzacurati in Un&#39;altra vita and La passione; P. Virz&igrave; in Ferie d&#39;agosto; S. Citti in I magi randagi; G. Piccioni in Luce dei miei occhi; A. Grimaldi in Caos calmo. In 2008, under the direction of P. Avati, he won the Coppa Volpi at the Venice Film Festival for his interpretation of the father in Il pap&agrave; di Giovanna. His success in moving pictures, however, has not led him to neglect the stage, where he continues his acclaimed career.</p>

In 2003 he opened up his own restaurant, D’O, in Cornaredo, Milan, that has swiftly become unanimously acclaimed by critics and customers, so much so that waiting lists for a table are now very long. He has taught at the European Design Institute and at Milan’s Catholic University. The City of Milan awarded him its Ambrogino d’Oro prize. He has written Cuoco andata e ritorno (Touring, 2007); La mia cucina pop. L’arte di caramellare i sogni (Rizzoli, 2009).</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>born 1946 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, from a Jewish family, studied in Milan where he started his career as a singer and musician; his theatre debut was in 1984 and he has worked with T. Kantor, F. Parenti, G. Marini; in 1990 he created the Theater Orchestra and started his collaboration with CRT Artificio di Milano. His popularity and critical acclaim have been growing ever since; he has made records, acted in movies, taken part in radio shows. Since 2004 he’s at the head of the Mittelfest in Cividale del Friuli. He is always involved in peace and human rights issues. Among his publications, all with Einaudi, are: L’umorismo ebraico in otto lezioni e duecento storielle (1998); L’ebreo che ride (1998); Ballata di fine millennio (1999); Contro l’idolatria (2005); Oylem Goylem (2005); Perchè no? L’ebreo corrosivo (2006); Lavoratori di tutto il mondo ridete (2007); Via a te stesso (2002); L’ebreo che ride (2008).</p>

His books include: <em>Abbasso Euclide</em> (2013), a trilogy on the history of geometry published by Mondadori; <em>Il museo dei numeri</em> (Rizzoli, 2014), <em>Sulle spalle di un gigante</em> (Longanesi, 2014), <em>Il diavolo in cattedra</em> (Einaudi, 2015), <em>Il giro del mondo in 80 pensieri</em> (Rizzoli, 2015). His latest work, <em>Dizionario della stupidit&agrave;</em> (Rizzoli) will be released in August.</p>

has been professor of Developmental Psychology at La Sapienza University since<br />

books in which she examines normal and pathological development, education, the<br />
family, school, the emotions involved in communication and relationships with<br />
the media. She has been a member of the Quality Commission for the Rai  and the National Bioethics Committee. She is a<br />
contributor to Mente e Cervello, Psicologia Contemporanea, La scuola dell’infanzia,<br />
Prometeo. Her most recent books include: <em>La<br />
forza d’animo</em> (Rizzoli, 2003); <em>TV per<br />
un figlio</em> (Laterza, 2004); con Alberto Oliverio, <em>Le età della mente</em> (Rizzoli, 2004); <em>Psicologia della paura</em> (Bollati Boringhieri, 2007); <em>Piccoli bulli crescono</em> (Rizzoli, 2007).</p>
