Mariarosaria Taddeo
Mariarosaria Taddeo is Professor of Digital Ethics and Defence Technologies at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford, and Defence Science and Technology Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute in London. She was awarded the title of Grande Ufficiale al Merito della Repubblica Italiana by President Sergio Mattarella. Her research focuses on the ethics of artificial intelligence, digital innovation, security, national defence, and cyber conflict. She has published over 120 academic articles in leading journals including Nature, Nature Machine Intelligence, Science, and Science Robotics. Since 2019, she has served on the Ethics Advisory Panel of the UK Ministry of Defence and is one of its recognised opinion leaders. She is the author of Codice di guerra. Etica dell’intelligenza artificiale nella difesa (Cortina, 2025).
