Romeo Gigli

Romeo Gigli Romeo Gigli (1949) started travelling the world young and his talent for dressing women was abundantly clear right away. In 1986 at his first women’s fashion show, he was immediately heralded as the enfant prodige of fashion; in 1987 his first collection for Callaghan; in 1989 his first women’s show in Paris. He has worked with artists and designers like Sottsass, Mendini, Natalie du Pasquier, Massimo Giacon, Jacopo Foggini; in the opera world, with musicians such as Peter Gabriel and Jean Michel Jarre. His stores are in Paris, London, New York, Milan and Zurich. In 1990 he won the Woolmark awards, in 1992 he was awarded the title of Chevalier de l'ordre des artes et des lettres. His creations are exhibited in the major fashion and costume museums in the world: Momu, Antwerp; Fashion & Textile Museum, London; Fashion Institute of Technology and the Metropolitan Museum, New York.
