parallelaMente is an off festival that has reached its third edition in 2016 and is curated by Massimo Biava e Alessandro Picci. It takes place throughout Sarzana's roads and squares and features local artists and cultural associations.

Un Premio Speciale – a Special Prize II edizion
Festival della Mente recognizes the book Parto by Chiara Carminati and Massimiliano Tappari (Panini, 2013) for its ability to create a "bridge" between the world of grown-ups and the world of children, thus adding value to the two sections of the festival. An emotion-stirring book, where the poetry of Chiara Carminati's words meets Massimiliano Tappari's talent for grasping messages hidden in everyday objects and translating them into images.
The award cerimony will take place Sunday, September 4th at 6.30 p.m. at the festival bookshop, in piazza Matteotti 1. The authors will be present.

THE VIDEO-ART OF JOHANNA BILLING
Four screenings in collaboration with Villa Croce Contemporary Art Museum, curated by Ilaria Bonacossa.
Johanna Billing is recognized within the international landscape for her ability to weave music, movement and rythm together in a format suspended between documentary and fiction. Her hypnotic video-installations feature people performing simple choreographic acts that provide stratified interpretations of the social and political history of select locations.
The screenings will take place at cinema Moderno, in loop. Free entry.
