Michele Mari
teaches Italian literature at the University of Milan. He lives in Milan and Rome and has published a number of essays. His fiction books published by Einaudi include Di bestia in bestia (1989; new version 2013), Euridice aveva un cane (1993), Tu, sanguinosa infanzia (1997), Rondini sul filo (1999), Tutto il ferro della Torre Eiffel (2002), Rosso Floyd (2010), Fantasmagonia (2012), Roderick Duddle (2014), Leggenda privata (2017). In 2007 he published Cento poesie d’amore a Ladyhawke (Einaudi); in 2008, with V. Vitali, Milano fantasma (EDT); in 2015, with F. Pernigo, Asterusher. Autobiografia per feticci (Corraini); in 2017, with G. Baruchello, Sogni (Humboldt). In 2017 his latest collection of essays was published by Il Saggiatore, I demoni e la pasta sfoglia. He translated the books Treasure Island, The call of the wild, Of mice and men and The time machine, among others.
