Tommaso Ghidini
From Homo sapiens to Homo caelestis: the beginning of a new era
We are the aliens who want to become a multiplanetary species, crossing the thin border of the atmosphere and setting foot in the infinite universe of possibilities. Will we be able to want really desire it? Tommaso Ghidini, ESA’s official spokesperson, tells us about it.
Tommaso Ghidini is head of ESA’s Structures, Mechanisms and Materials Division. With its worldy-known and high-level labs and calculation centers, the Division guarantees the structural integrity of all the ESA's programs and space missions. He also is visiting professor at Politecnico di Milano on the first Additive Manufacturing for Space and Aerospace Applications course. As official spokesman of ESA, he is very active in scientific information and holds highly regarded all over the world. Besides his institutional activities, he cultivates his passion for flying. His first book, Homo Caelestis. L’incredibile racconto di come saremo (Longanesi), will be published in September.
