2018 Programme
Event #59
Caterina Giannotti, Maria Pia Montagna
Writing is a game if you know the rules!
workshop ages 6-11
75 minutes
20 participants
Let's embark on a voyage across a blank page to search for the roots of who we truly are. Slow down your pace, make time for yourself and free your creativity. From cursive to the most fascinating forms of artistic lettering, we'll discover how an action so ancient has never been more current than now.
Caterina Giannotti, an architect and graphic designer based in Venice, and Maria Pia Montagna, a passionate scholar of the vast expressive potential of the written mark, are the founders of SMED - Scrivere a Mano nell'Era Digitale, an association that aims to bring innovation to the way handwriting is taught by applying the guidelines for cursive. The workshop is inspired by the book Lascia il segno by Monica Dengo (Terre di Mezzo, 2017).
