Esther Perel

Betraying a relationship: reasons for unfaithfulness

Why is betrayal both prohibited and practiced? Why do people cheat even in happy marriages? Is a betrayal-proof marriage possible? Infidelity is considered one of the most painful relational events, yet this common experience is still  little known. Starting from her therapist job experience, Esther Perel states that betrayals can teach a lot about marriage and society. They give us a point of view over our personal and cultural attitudes, and the way we now approach betrayal is a consequence of the complex changes happening in worldwide communities.
